About Sydney’s north

Take a ferry at Circular Quay for Manly, and some of the best attractions in Sydney’s north. You’ll get a close-up view of the Sydney Opera House from the deck of a ferry, and the harbour’s spectacular entrance, known as the Heads.

With a stretch of sand to rival Bondi Beach, Manly Beach is ideal for swimming and surfing. Rent a bike at Manly Bike Tours and ride along coastal cycle paths. Accommodation options in Manly cater for a range of budgets. EcoTreasures’ walking tours explore the northern beaches and Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park.

You’ll discover 4,000 animals at Taronga Zoo in Mosman, a short ferry ride from Circular Quay. Mosman also has some of Sydney’s most beautiful homes and gardens. Military Road in Mosman is a great place for shopping with stylish boutiques and cafés.

Children will find plenty of thrills at Luna Park, an amusement park in North Sydney, near the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Walk north across the harbour bridge from the city centre, take a train to Milsons Point, or go by ferry from Circular Quay for a family fun day out at Luna Park.
